I wrote this after a visit to Bethlehem almost six years ago. While we were there, someone pointed out in passing how amazing it was that God chose to reveal that Jesus was coming to both simple shepherds as well as the wisest people. That reality has stuck with me ever since. It also made me think of this quote: “The gospel is both simple enough that a child can understand it and profound enough that the greatest minds could never grasp the fullness of it’s depth.”
